This page sums up FIRST Character in Dimraeth? Start Here! by LightItUpDan. Each line links to the moment in the video it comes from.

What the video covers

  • Your archetype comes from your race plus your class. Three races and three classes are playable. The video says more are coming, for 48 pairs in all, and the game files already name 9 races and 6 classes (54 pairs). 0:56
  • The video says your weapon is tied to your race, for example the sword for Humans and the battle axe for Minotaurs. 1:27
  • In the skill tree, class paths run east and west and race paths run north and south. For a Wildstrider, the video finds sword skills to the north, stuns to the east, crossbow skills to the south and Rage buffs to the west. 2:05
  • Spellbooks found in the world unlock a recipe. Craft it at a trainer, then use the book from your inventory to learn the skill. The video names Rahaner for melee skills and Tamsin and Myrll for magic. 2:50
  • Items with charges, like the health flask, refill when you rest at a campfire. Resting also heals you and brings the monsters back. 3:49
  • Pick up Tenderberries early to add health flask charges. The video says the starter flask goes up to 7. You can also grow them in the Sanctum from seeds. 4:10
  • Build storage chests early from the furniture tab of the Sanctum build menu. A training dummy can be built there too, to try gear and skills. 4:39
  • You level up at a campfire by spending XP on attributes. The XP spent fills your level, and each level gives skill points. XP is not lost when you die, and respec potions let you change your build later. 5:05
  • Gear drops with random stats and belongs to a set. Salvage what you do not need at the forge and use the materials to upgrade. The video upgrades pieces to at least +2, where the first extra stat appears. 6:28
  • The video says one game minute passes per real second. The game files give about 1.17 real seconds per game minute, so a full day takes about 28 real minutes. 7:33
  • Sleep in the Sanctum at night for buffs and bonus XP. Teleporting is free, so go home often to sleep, store items and salvage. 7:48
  • Event quests pop up while you explore, and the video says they last 15 real minutes. Repeat deeds from the guild hall board for XP. After you beat a boss, it comes back as a bounty you can repeat at higher difficulty for better loot. 8:41
