Relationships
Each person you can talk to keeps 4 numbers about you: Opinion, Friendship, Romance and Value Alignment.
Some replies in a conversation raise or lower them. A reply counts once for each question: the numbers change only the first time you answer it.
When several players talk to one person, each player votes for a reply and gets that reply's change. The person answers one vote picked at random.
Opinion level
Your Opinion number gives an Opinion level from 1 to 4:

Early titles
When the table gives Stranger and your Opinion level is 2 or more, the game checks three early titles in this order:
- Romantic Interest: Romance is 6 or more, and Romance times 1.5 is at least your Friendship and your Value Alignment.
- Emerging Friend: Friendship is 10 or more and at least your Value Alignment.
- Ideological Spark: Value Alignment is 10 or more.
If none fits, you stay a Stranger.

How a title is chosen
Friendship, Romance and Value Alignment each count as Low below 30, Medium from 30, and High from 70. The game looks the three up in this table. A row only counts once your Opinion level reaches its number:
