Characters, worlds and co-op
Dimraeth keeps two kinds of save file: one for each character and one for each world. A character can play in any world, its own or a friend's.
| Your character keeps | The world keeps |
|---|---|
| Level, XP and attributes | Quest progress |
| Skill tree, skill points and refunds | Sanctum buildings, and the chests and their contents |
| Gold | The pet pen |
| Backpack and worn gear | Shop upgrades |
| Learned spells and recipes | What people think of you |
| Codex entries | Bounty progress and tiers |
| Difficulty and the world settings |
Quests in a friend's world
Quest progress is saved in the world, not on your character (developer, 2026-09-15). When you play in a friend's world, the quests you finish count in that world only. In your own world they are still open.
120 of the 150 quests are world quests: once someone finishes one, it is done for everyone in that world.
23 quests count for the whole party.
7 quests count for each player alone:
Craftsman's Beginnings,
Learning to Build,
Learning to Train,
Maintaining the Defenses,
Pitching In,
Reach Earlwood Village,
The Art of Runesmithing.
Your level, XP, gold and gear are on your character, so you take them home.
Save files
C:\Users\(your name)\AppData\LocalLow\Mudtek\Dimraeth\Characters C:\Users\(your name)\AppData\LocalLow\Mudtek\Dimraeth\Worlds Each character is one .jrf file and each world one .jrwf file. These are the Windows paths.
The skill point checker reads a character file in your browser.
Race and class
You choose race and class when you make the character, and the game has no way to change them later. For another race or class, make a new character (developer, 2026-09-15).
You can still reset your skill points and your attributes.
Your race sets your weapon: Minotaurs use an axe, Humans a sword and a crossbow, Elves two daggers (developer, 2026-09-15).
No gear drop is a weapon. Your 12 equipment slots are: Rune, Under-coat, Belt, Charm, Ring (2), Amulet (2), Badge (2), Bracer (2).
Moving gear to another character
Chests belong to the world, and your backpack belongs to your character. To pass gear on, put it in a chest in your Sanctum. Then load the same world with the other character and take it out.
World settings
Difficulty: what it changes. Personal loot: how it works.
Keeping your Sanctum safe
With Lock Buildings to Owner on, other players cannot open your doors and gates, or your chests unless a chest is set to Public. They also cannot move or remove what you built. The host is never locked out.
Each chest also has its own switch. The game says:
Private: Only you can spend what is stored here on your builds and crafts.
Public: Anyone can spend what is stored here on their builds and crafts.
A lobby can be Private, Friends Only or Public. Since patch 0.107.7725 (patch notes, 2026-09-21), a new lobby starts as Friends Only.
