What the video covers
- A first look at the game. The creator makes a character, plays through the Lost Caverns and the first boss, sets up the first camp and reaches Earlwood Village. It is more impressions than plan. 0:06
- The video shows game version 0.107.7694. The numbers we checked here are the same in the 0.107.7779 game files. 0:10
- On the character screen, the diamond at the top shows your starting spells. The class sets the upper ones and the race the lower ones, and the screen names the archetype and its passive. For a Human Magician (Elemental Ranger) it shows
Fireball and
Blizzard for the class and
Weapon Swap and
Aimed Shot for the race. 0:58 - The creator plays an Elf Magician (Echo Weaver) on Moderate. The starting attributes on screen (Memory 7, Intelligence 8, Physique 3, Strength 4, Adventure 6, Charisma 7, Agility 7, Energy 6) match the game files. In the files, Easy gives monsters 15% less health and 30% less damage, and Hard gives them 30% more of both. 2:20
- The creator compares the game to a soulslike. You have a Stamina bar and a parry, and enemies come back when you rest. 2:52
- You can fast travel from the map to any waygate you have found. 9:28
- Resting at a campfire refills your potions and other combat items, but the monsters come back. The rest screen in the video says 30 returned. 9:50
- The first boss is the
Monstrous Droop. In the game files it is a level 2 mini-boss with no Fire defence. It gives 65 XP and can drop
Droop Gelo (50%) and
Droop Core (25%). 10:04 - The creator found the fight easy: stay out of its way and cast fire. In its second phase it jumps twice, so watch where it lands. 12:08
- At the first camp you take the old camp apart for materials by holding the button over a building. Then you build your own
Tent and
Campfire. Sleeping in the tent gives Well Rested: 10% more monster XP and 5% less Nourishment decay for 10 minutes. The tent costs 4
Wildwood Pine and 1
Frayed Cloth, the same as in the game files. 14:09 - The campfire cooks simple food.
Cooked Critter gives 5% max Health for 30 minutes, and only one food buff can be active at a time. Keep eating, because the quest text warns you about Nourishment. 14:59 - The video ends in Earlwood Village, where the creator meets Manga and Befr. 19:51
