What the video covers

• TankMeta makes nine fresh characters, one for each playable race and class pair, and takes each one into the Monstrous Droop fight at the end of The First Steps. There is music but no voice, and no skill tree, attribute or gear screen ever opens. Each run shows one pair's starting spells against the first boss. 0:00
• In the game files, race gives three of the four starting spells and class gives the fourth. Elves start with Backstep Strike, Dash and Vanish. Humans get Weapon Swap, Dash and Parry, and Minotaurs get Cornu Charge, Dash and Retaliation. On top of that, Brawlers start with Quick Jab, Shadows with Vanishing Strike and Magicians with Fireball.
• Run 1 is Phase Duelist (the pick screen spells it Phase Duellist). The boss bar appears at 0:38 and the kill banner at 1:46, so the fight takes about 70 seconds. 0:00
• Run 2 is Horned Vanguard. The bar appears at 2:28 and the boss dies at 3:36, again about 70 seconds. 2:00
• Run 3 is Wildstrider. From the bar at 4:18 to the kill at 5:16 is about 60 seconds, the shortest fight in the video. 3:48
• Run 4 is Night's Whisper. This one runs from 5:52 to 7:20, about 90 seconds. 5:28
• Run 5 is Gloom Stalker. The bar appears at 7:55 and the kill comes at 9:10, about 75 seconds. 7:26
• Run 6 is Xwin Dreadhorn, from 9:44 to 10:58, also about 75 seconds. 9:18
• Run 7 is Echo Weaver. It takes about 80 seconds, from 11:40 to 12:58. 11:08
• Run 8 is Earthshaker, and at about 100 seconds (13:44 to 15:22) it is the longest fight in the video. The description calls this chapter Minotaur Brawler, but the pick screen says Earthshaker. 13:08
• Run 9 is Elemental Ranger, from 16:09 to 17:26, about 80 seconds. The description calls this chapter Human Brawler; the pick screen says Elemental Ranger. 15:38
• When the fight starts, the boss drops into the room from above. 0:36
• The boss rears up and six water orbs form a ring around it, then fly outward. In the game code this attack always makes six orbs, spaced evenly, and each one deals Blunt damage. 0:44
• The boss also jumps. A faint ring appears on the floor where the player stood, and the boss crashes down on it a moment later. In the footage the player steps out of the ring before it lands. The game code moves the boss to a target spot and deals Blunt damage on landing. 1:00
• The two attacks can come back to back. At 1:13 the boss jumps, it lands at 1:14, and at 1:16 it rears up and throws the ring of orbs. 1:13
• The game code runs this fight as the Droop King encounter, with three attacks: Spit (the orb ring), Lunge (the jump) and Erupt. Erupt hits everything around the boss's body 1.6 seconds after it starts and stuns for 1 second. This guide could not match Erupt to one clear moment in the footage.
• In the game files the boss is level 2 and has 0 resistance to every damage type.
