What the video covers

  • An Echo Weaver (elf magician) Burning build. The author cleared hard mode with it and beat every level 3 boss except the final one, and says the kills are quick enough to farm bosses comfortably. 0:04
  • Most attribute points go into Intelligence and Charisma. Physique sits at 16, because in hard mode most level 3 bosses kill you in one hit with less. The author wants 16 to 20 Physique to survive one mistake; if you never get hit, you can skip it. 0:31
  • The idea is to stack Burning on enemies, then let the damage over time and Chrono Spike finish them from range. 1:28
  • On the Fireball line, one Fire Damage Increase node stays empty (0 of 1 on screen). Pyre Echo is taken: applying Burning grants Magic Damage equal to the Burning on the enemy for 5 seconds. 1:46
  • Fireball takes Rapid Embers and both cooldown nodes. The author says the second cooldown node is optional. 1:56
  • Take Igniting Fireball and all its upgrades. The video says a Fireball then applies 7 Burning at once and calls this the core of the build. In the game files Igniting Fireball adds 2 Burning and each of its three upgrades adds 1 more. 2:13
  • Ashen Escalation is a must: spending Burning raises your Burning damage for 8 seconds. The tooltip in the video says 20% per stack spent. The current game files say 10% per stack, up to 100%. 2:25
  • Follow the path far enough to raise your maximum Burning by 3. 2:38
  • The Dragon's Breath branch up to Wildfire Dragon is optional, but it makes farming easier. Enemies hit by Dragon's Breath usually die, and Wildfire Dragon spreads Burning to nearby enemies first so you do not lose the stacks. 2:50
  • Lower down, take damage against Burning enemies and longer Burning duration. Chrono Spike comes through the Ether side; the author says Concentration Boost or Ether Damage are both fine on the way. 3:20
  • Chrono Spike hits for about 1000. The author used Inferno before: it can pass 3000 damage, but you stand still while casting, which gets you killed, so they switched. Putting those points into more fire damage or piercing instead may be stronger. 3:59
  • The tree shows 59 spent points. The author says one point went missing. 4:48
  • For gear, the author wears three Convergence pieces for Concentration regeneration (+10% at 3 pieces in the game files), plus Enflamed from boss runs. With 4 Enflamed pieces, casting a fire spell also fires an extra shot at a nearby enemy. 4:57
  • The author wears more Convergence than needed. If you have Pyreweaver pieces, put three into that instead. 5:47
  • On gear, fire damage comes first and fire piercing is best. Armor pieces only need some health, and movement speed helps. On rings and similar pieces look for fire damage, fire piercing and Burning damage, then magic damage and Burning duration. Cooldown reduction helps but is optional. 6:02
  • Two Burnward pieces (bracers from boss runs) add the 2-piece bonus of +8% fire damage. 7:07
  • With enough cooldown reduction, Fireball with Rapid Embers has no recast wait at all. 7:33
  • At 22 Burning stacks the damage over time ticks for about 542. Concentration drains fast, so carry Concentration potions. 7:53
  • One Dragon's Breath deals a bit over 200 per hit and applies about 9 Burning stacks. A Fireball on top brings it to 16. 8:20
  • Chrono Spike then hits for 1200 to 1869 in the tests shown. 8:50
  • The stat sheet in the video shows 50 magic power, 30% magic damage, 79% fire damage, 36% damage against Burning enemies, 208% Burning damage and 29 fire piercing. 9:37
  • The boss tests are a slime boss and the corrupted treant, both at level 3. Stay mobile, because casting Fireball stops you in place for a moment. 10:26
  • Bosses drop fire accessories often, so a Burning build is easy to put together. From range it is fairly safe, and the author suggests it for new players. 14:28
  • The pet is the Silver Cat. After you take a hit it puts up a barrier, which saves you from dying to damage over time. In the game files the barrier lasts 3 seconds, with a 30 second cooldown. 15:07

Notes from the video

  • The node list was read off the lit paths in the video's skill tree walk (1:30 to 4:50). It adds up to the 59 spent points on screen. The planner link uses level 25 with 11 bonus points to match. 1:33
  • The game runs in Japanese in the video. Node and spell names here are the English names from the game files. 1:50
  • The corner of the screen shows game version 0.107.7725 (game build 25427451). 8:20
  • From 4:51 to 7:36 the video opens all 12 worn pieces on the character screen. Every one is forged to +11, the top forge level, which the planner counts as level 12. The second badge shows for about one second, at 7:09. 5:00
  • The set rows show where each set is worn: Convergence 3 of 6 on the rune, belt and first ring; Enflamed 6 of 4 on the undercoat, second ring, both amulets and both badges; Pyreweaver 1 of 6 on the charm; Burnward 2 of 4 on both bracers. Convergence gets its 3-piece bonus, Enflamed its 4-piece bonus with two pieces to spare, and Burnward its 2-piece bonus. 7:01
  • The creator says the six Enflamed pieces are more than the set needs. If you have Pyreweaver, wear up to three of those instead. 5:44
  • On rings and other damage pieces the creator wants Fire Damage, Fire Piercing and Burning Damage first, then Magic Damage, Burning Duration and Spell Haste. On armor pieces they don't mind much; Health and Movement Speed are enough. 6:20
  • Slot order comes from where the mouse points on the character screen: the left column holds Ring1, Amulet1, Badge1 and Bracer1, the right column the second of each. The Mythical amulet sits in the left column and the Rare amulet in the right one. 7:02
  • Stars come from the base name of each piece, for example Seeker Emblem is 3 stars and Adept Emblem 2. 7:09
