This page sums up Moo Moo Earth Shatter Build | Hardmode | Dimraeth by Zelendes. Each line links to the moment in the video it comes from.

What the video covers

  • A Xwin Dreadhorn (minotaur shadow) build around Blunt spells and stuns, played on hard mode. It puts 10 points in Memory for the Concentration pool, some in Physique because you run straight into packs, a little in Energy for the stamina skills, and the rest in Strength. Agility does not matter here. 1:14
  • Strength also raises attack speed on this archetype. In the game files, the minotaur shadow gets +0.25% Attack Speed per Strength point. 1:43
  • The spells are Boulder Toss, Seismic Stampede, Tyrant Quake as the main damage and Shockwave for area damage. The last slot is free; in a party the author takes War Banner to help friends. 2:04
  • The tree goes for Blunt damage first, since nearly every skill in the build deals Blunt damage. Boulder Toss gets Shattering Boulder for more area damage. 2:27
  • Next come critical damage and Stun Build-up, then Seismic Stampede as the opener. Remote Stampede means you cast it and walk away instead of channelling, and Enraging Stampede turns every hit into Rage. 2:44
  • Tyrant Quake follows the Stampede and spends the Rage. Rapid Quake shortens its charge time and Raging Quake lets it ignore armor for each Rage spent. Damage against stunned enemies comes along the way, because this build stuns a lot. 3:13
  • Shadow Quake: each Minotaur Magic spell leaves a shadow clone that sends out a shockwave when enemies come close. Spam your spells and you get several clones at once. 3:51
  • The last points go into Blunt damage and Quickened Shadow for critical chance, which the author calls very important. 4:17
  • The gear is six Rumbler pieces, for movement speed, physical damage and critical chance. The 6-piece bonus, Haymaker, gives +20% physical damage for 5 seconds after a dash, so dash before every opener. 4:35
  • The opener in the video is a dash, then Seismic Stampede, then Tyrant Quake right after. 5:01
  • Two Shakers pieces give the 2-piece bonus of +8% Blunt Damage. The author does not want the 4-piece bonus, which makes Shockwave a hold-to-cast spell. 5:13
  • Four Shattering pieces make rocks scatter when you stun an enemy, and the rocks deal Blunt Damage to every enemy they hit. The author calls it great for clearing packs and speed farming, and weak against bosses. 5:40
  • On gear, look for max Rage, Blunt damage, physical damage, piercing, critical chance and critical multiplier. 6:17
  • The pet is the War Cat (the author named theirs Bubbles). Its Rousing Snarl gives Rage when a fight starts and more every 6 seconds. The video guesses each Rage adds about 2% physical damage, and the game's codex text says the same: 2% per stack. 6:27
  • The War Cat is picked up in the world first, then sold by the NPC the video calls Merrill. The game files name the NPC Myrll. The pet unlocks from a pickup in Wildwood Forest, and Myrll then sells it for 50 gold. 6:56
  • Early on, when Rage runs short, make Rage potions and upgrade them. The video shows Minor Blood Rage Potion. 7:07
  • Rumbler drops from Goblin Basher, Rotting Treant and Treant, and from chests in the Goblin Caves. Shakers drops from Corrupted Wildwood Wolf in Wildwood Forest, and Shattering from the mini boss Smashmouth. The game files give the same sources. 7:32

Rotation

  1. Seismic Stampede opens the fight right after a dash. With Remote Stampede it fires on its own, and Enraging Stampede gives 2 Rage per enemy hit by each shockwave. 5:01
  2. Tyrant Quake follows up and spends the Rage. In the game files Rapid Quake cuts the charge time by 60% and the damage by 25%, and Raging Quake ignores 4% of enemy Armor per Rage spent, up to 40%. 5:05
  3. Boulder Toss adds Blunt damage from range; Shattering Boulder spreads fragments on impact. 2:07
  4. Shockwave for area damage. 2:14
  5. War Banner in the free slot when playing in a party. 2:17

Notes from the video

  • The node list was read off the lit paths in the video's skill tree walk (2:27 to 4:35) and adds up to the 60 spent points on screen. The nodes are listed in the order the walk shows them. The video does not show the order they were bought in. 2:31
  • 60 points at level 25 means 48 from levels plus 12 from boss kills. The planner link uses level 25 with 12 bonus points. 2:31
  • Remote Stampede locks out the other three Seismic Stampede modifiers in its row (Dazing, Expansive and Focused Stampede), so the path under them stays empty. 3:01
  • The version string in the corner is partly covered. It starts with 0.107.76, so the video is older than 0.107.7725, the second build this wiki read. 4:10
  • All 12 worn pieces are hovered between 4:41 and 6:22, every one at +11 (forge level 12). Rumbler takes the rune, both rings, one amulet and both badges (6 of 6). Shattering takes the belt, the other amulet and both bracers (4 of 4). Shakers takes the under-coat and the charm (2 of 4). 6:10
  • Stars come from the base name of each piece, for example Studded Amulet is 3 stars, Refined Rune 2 and Simple Sash 1. 6:07
  • The pet is a War Cat named Bubbles, at pet level 8. 6:35
