What the video covers

  • This is a human brawler build (Wildstrider) with two buttons: bleed enemies with the slashes, then auto attack while Pulverize fires on its own. All the footage is from tier three content. 0:03
  • The author likes the fast attacks, the Bleeding that keeps ticking, the many critical hits and the quick stun build-up. 0:47
  • On the downside, you fight in melee, so you have to dodge or parry. Constant auto attacks eat stamina, so the author carries a stamina potion. Running out of Rage lowers your damage. 1:13
  • The build hangs on the node Pulverizing Frenzy. Your third melee hit above 5 Rage spends the Rage to cast Pulverize for free, and Pulverize with the Enraging modifier gives Rage back. The author credits the channel そひ for the idea. 1:40
  • Open with Frenzied Slashes to apply Bleeding, cast Frenzy for the first 5 Rage, then auto attack. Throw the slashes again when they come off cooldown. 2:35
  • Other spells work too, such as Devour or Goblin Toss. You can also keep Pulverize on the bar as a backup Rage source if you drop Frenzy or the Rage pet. 4:24
  • None of the skills in the build need attributes, so the author puts 10 in Physique for health and the rest into physical power. 4:52
  • Strength, Agility and Adventure all add physical power. Each point costs more XP than the one before, so trading some Strength for cheaper Adventure or Agility points can end higher: the video goes from 56.5 to 58 physical power this way. 5:39
  • The pet is the War Cat, for its Rage. The author wants to try the Silver Cat's barrier and maybe the Hound's stun build-up. 7:03
  • For food, the author eats plain cooked meat and skips other temporary buffs because they end when you die. 7:39
  • The gear is Ripping for Frenzied Slashes and Gorehorn for physical damage, attack speed, critical chance, damage against Bleeding enemies and critical damage. 8:03
  • The video also mentions Bullheart (armor on Blunt hits), Lionspear (rare, and Thrust damage does not fit), Pitfighter while you farm Ripping, Rumbler, Shattering and Stonehoove. With Savage Claw instead of the slashes, Brutalclaw fits, but it applies far fewer Bleeding stacks. 8:31
  • In the skill tree walk the author takes health first, then critical damage and chance, attack speed on critical hits, Frenzy, Bleeding and damage against Bleeding enemies. After that come the Pulverize branch, damage against stunned enemies, Pulverizing Frenzy and Wandering Ranger. The author says the build has to be a human, because other races do not get these nodes. 10:15
  • Your pet can take items straight to a storage chest. The author keeps one chest per set plus a dump chest, then uses Deposit Matching to sort. 12:14

Rotation

  1. Frenzied Slashes applies Bleeding. With 3 Ripping pieces the slashes keep going for a few seconds; with 5 they apply twice the Bleeding. 2:44
  2. Frenzy gives the first 5 Rage and a burst of attack speed. 3:12
  3. Pulverize goes off for free on a third auto attack hit above 5 Rage, and the Enraging nodes give Rage back. The video shows this at most once every 2 seconds; the game files of 0.107.7779 say once every 10 seconds. 3:33
  4. Frenzied Slashes again whenever it is off cooldown, to keep Bleeding up. 2:26

Notes from the video

  • The node list was read off the lit paths in the video's skill tree walk (10:15 to 12:12), and it adds up to the 60 spent points on screen. The nodes are listed in the order the walk shows them. The video does not show the order they were bought in. 10:15
  • The corner of the screen shows game version 0.107.7745 (game build 25483224). 3:18
  • The video shows 60 points spent at level 25 (48 from levels, the rest from boss kills). The planner link uses level 25 with 12 bonus points. 10:20
  • The attribute math matches the game files. Strength gives 1 physical power per point, Agility and Adventure 0.5 each, and the Wildstrider passive adds 0.25 physical damage per Adventure point. Attribute costs rise with every point above your starting value. 5:39
  • Gorehorn sits in 7 slots: the rune, both rings, both amulets, one badge and one bracer. Ripping takes the other 5, which are the undercoat, belt, charm, second badge and second bracer. The video opens only the rune and the undercoat. 8:20
  • The uploader runs a War Cat called Ragebait because its Rage keeps things going when the attacks stop. They want to try the Silver Cat next for its shield, and a Silver Cat is already out on the gear screens. 7:08
  • The food is Cooked Beast Meat. The uploader skips temporary buffs because death ends them. 7:42

Changed since this video

  • Frenzy changed in game build 25546572, after the build the video shows.
  • Frenzied Slashes changed in game build 25546572, after the build the video shows.
  • Seeing Red changed in game build 25546572, after the build the video shows.
  • Pulverizing Frenzy changed in game build 25546572, after the build the video shows.
  • After the upload, the author added a note to the video description: the internal cooldown of Pulverizing Frenzy went from 2 to 10 seconds. The video shows once every 2 seconds (game version 0.107.7745). The game files of version 0.107.7779 give once every 10 seconds, so the free Pulverize now comes far less often than in the footage.

Not shown in the video

The video does not show these, so this guide leaves them out.

  • The exact order the skill points were bought in.
  • The stats of every gear piece other than the rune and the undercoat.
